The Prime Minister does not consider the opposition worthy to sit with them, Ahsan Iqbal

PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal said that the biggest weakness of today’s meeting was that the Leader of the House was absent and the Prime Minister did not consider the opposition worthy to sit with him.

Talking to Shahzeb Khanzada on Geo News today, Ahsan Iqbal said that he was surprised that the decision taken by the Information Minister was not taken at the national security briefing. No such briefing was given that an agreement has been reached with them, everyone agreed that any such agreement should be with the approval of Parliament.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the government makes decisions which are known to the international media and the parliament is kept completely unaware of this information.

The PML-N leader said that the style of government in Pakistan has discredited the national institutions, the military institutions were briefed on the possible threats to Pakistan, options were given on changes in Pakistan and the region.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the decision making body is the government or parliament? It is the job of the government to create consensus. Whatever policy decision is taken, it should be by consensus in the parliament.

He said that in Parliament we have tried to get the opposition to play a joint role, the government is going to bulldoze important legislation, we will play a full role in the joint floor of the Senate and Parliament.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the government is giving NRO to itself, the opposition will fight a legal battle over it, the NAB amendment bill has yet to go to the Senate, the NAB bill is a violation of the constitution and law.
