Federal Minister for Energy Hamad Azhar has said that all possible steps are being taken to overcome the gas shortage in winter.
Talking to Geo News, Hamad Azhar said that arrangements for 10 LNG cargoes for November are complete and efforts are underway for the 11th.
He said that after the supply of 2 LNG cargoes was canceled by 2 international companies for November, one LNG cargo has been arranged while efforts are being made for the other.
The Federal Minister for Energy further said that a total of 10 LNG cargoes are now available for November and efforts are underway for another LNG.
Hamad Azhar said that in order to provide better energy in winter, electricity rates have also been reduced on the use of surplus electricity.
He said that domestic consumers would be the first priority in gas supply in winter.
