Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has announced nine new climate change plans.
According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, these nine projects are part of the country’s Carbon Net Zero Strategic Initiative (NET ZERO BY 2050 STRATEGIC INITIATIVE) by 2050.
Under the plans, Abu Dhabi’s electricity and water generation is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by at least 50 percent in 10 years.
The Abu Dhabi government aims to reach 8.8 gigawatts of clean power generation by 2025.
